How Altitude Drone Surveying Ltd collects, uses, and protects your personal data.
1. Who we are
Altitude Drone Surveying Ltd ("Altitude", "we", "us", "our") is a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 14693267), providing professional drone survey services across the UK.
We are the data controller for personal data collected through this website. If you have any questions about how we handle your data, contact us at adam@altitudedronesurvey.co.uk.
2. What data we collect
We collect personal data only when you voluntarily provide it — primarily through the contact and quote request forms on this website. This may include:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number (if provided)
- Details of your enquiry or project
If you use our Flight Conditions or Airspace Checker tools, you may enter a UK postcode. This is used solely to look up weather or airspace data and is not stored or linked to any other personal data we hold.
3. How we use your data
We use the information you provide to:
- Respond to your enquiry or quote request
- Provide the services you have requested
- Communicate with you about your project
- Comply with our legal obligations
We do not use your data for marketing purposes without your explicit consent, and we do not sell or share your data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
4. Legal basis for processing
We process your personal data on the basis of legitimate interests — specifically, responding to your enquiry and providing our services. Where we enter a contract with you, we also rely on the performance of that contract as a legal basis.
We have considered our legitimate interests against your rights and concluded that our processing does not override those rights, given the limited nature of the data collected and the direct relationship between you contacting us and our use of that data.
5. Data retention
We retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.
Enquiry data is typically retained for up to 3 years. If you become a client, we retain relevant data for 7 years in accordance with our legal obligations.
6. Third-party services and international transfers
We use the following third-party services to operate this website. Some of these services are based outside the UK. Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards approved under UK GDPR.
- Resend (US) — to deliver contact form emails. Your submission data is transmitted via Resend's infrastructure. See resend.com/privacy.
- Vercel (US) — to host this website. Your IP address may be processed by Vercel's infrastructure. See vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
- Sanity (Norway/US) — as a content management system. No personal data is stored in Sanity. See sanity.io/privacy.
- Umami Cloud (EU) — for privacy-friendly, cookieless website analytics. Aggregated, anonymous data only. No personal data, no cookies, no cross-site tracking. See umami.is/privacy.
- postcodes.io — a UK-based open data service used by the Flight Conditions and Airspace Checker tools to convert postcodes to coordinates. No personal data is retained.
- Open-Meteo — an open-source weather API used by the Flight Conditions tool. Only coordinates (derived from your postcode) are transmitted; no personal data is stored.
7. Automated decision-making
We do not carry out any automated decision-making or profiling using your personal data.
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict our processing of your data
- Data portability
- Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the basis for processing
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at adam@altitudedronesurvey.co.uk. We will respond within one calendar month.
9. Cookies and analytics
This website does not use tracking or advertising cookies. We may use essential session cookies required for the website to function.
For website analytics we use Umami Cloud, a privacy-friendly service that does not use cookies and does not collect personal data. Umami records anonymous, aggregated data — page views, country, device type, referring website — and cannot identify individual visitors. Because no personal data is collected, no consent banner is required under UK GDPR or PECR.
10. Complaints
If you have a concern about how we handle your personal data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The current version will always be available at this URL. This policy was last updated in May 2026.
